Born in 1999, Paloma Laudet is a freelance photographer member of Collectif Item and based in Paris. After studying photojournalism at EMI-CFD in Paris, she started by documenting the consequences of European anti-immigration policies. With this work, she won the Bourse du Talent in 2022, and her work was exhibited at the French National Library in Paris. For the past two years, she has been working mainly in East Africa, where she collaborates with both French and international media (Le Monde, Libération, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail) and also as a videographer (Arte, France TV). She is also developing personal documentary project in Rwanda, focused on the post-genocide society — a project supported by the CNAP. For her, photography is a way to bear witness to the social, environmental, and human issues shaping our society — so that indifference never takes hold.
