BRUT. 12/09/25

Born in 1999, Paloma Laudet is a freelance photographer, member of the Collectif Item, and based in Paris. After studying photojournalism at the EMI-CFD in Paris, she started by documenting the consequences of European anti-immigration policies through the building of walls across Europe. The project No Man’s Land was awarded by the Bourse du Talent in 2022 and exhibited at the French National Library.

For the past two years, she has been working in East Africa (Rwanda, DR-Congo, Uganda…), where she collaborates with French and international medias (Le Monde, Libération, The Guardian…) and also as a videographer (Arte, France TV…). She is also developing a documentary project in Rwanda on the post-genocide society, supported by the CNAP and the Prix Mentor. In 2025, her work in DR-Congo, in the territories that fall under the control of the M23, was exhibited at Visa pour l’Image and nominated for the Visa d’or News. For her, photography is a way to bear witness to the social, environmental, and human issues shaping our society, so that indifference never takes hold.

She has also developed an interest on residencies: in Johannesburg, South Africa, supported by the French Institute  (2022), and at Édouard-Herriot Hospital in Lyon, with the Musée Urbain Tony Garnier (2024). Alongside photography, she leads workshops on media training in schools with organizations such as Dysturb and Roger-Viollet.
